May 18 FTD DeliveredAs promised, FTD delivered the complete Warmhearted Wishes Fruit & Gourmet Kosher Gift Basket to my parents today. The basket looks great and my parents can now enjoy their gift from me. I am glad FTD kept their word and delivered a quality product. Here are the pictures:
May 14 FTD Disapointment & an update*Update: FTD called within a couple of hours of receiving my email and let me know they would send the basket to my parents on 5/17 with everything included. I will post a final update then. I won a $50 FTD gift card from a fellow blogger’s giveaway recently, and I promptly ordered the Warmhearted Wishes Fruit & Gourmet Kosher Gift Basket for my parents. It was supposed to include: 3 Braeburn Apples, 1 Granny Smith Apple, 3 D’Anjou Pears, 1 Red Pear, 5 oz. Sconza Caramelized Chocolate Cashews, 5 oz. Sconza Chocolate Fruit Basket, 6 oz. jar of honey, 3 oz. roasted and salted unshelled pistachios, and a 4 oz. bag of dried fruit. It looks so pretty, doesn’t it? I spent over $20 just to ship it, because I knew they would love it.
Today I received a phone call from my mom and she was asking me how much I spent for the gift basket. She started rattling off everything that was in the basket, and it took me a minute to realize she was not impressed, but shocked that this basket would have cost me $50, plus the amount I spent on shipping. She received the following: 4 apples, 4 pears, 1 grapefruit, 2 large oranges, 2 small oranges. And one of the pears was dented. None of the items were marked with a Kosher certification as stated in the description. I tried calling FTD, but there was a 1/2 hour wait. I have emailed them and will update my blog with the outcome. So glad I sent this to someone that actually let me know the condition it arrived in. Otherwise I would have never known! And here is the less-than-lovely basket that my mom received. Happy Mother’s Day Mom! Well kind of…  The FTD Basket my parents received- they removed the brown paper shreds from the basket.

This is a Latin American dessert inspired cereal. I enjoyed the mild caramel flavor and the scent was pleasing too. Not only does this cereal taste great, it also has 19 grams of whole grain per serving. This makes Cheerios Dulce de Leche a good option for my whole family. I sat my 3 year old down to take her picture with the cereal. I wasn’t sure if she would be willing to try them. Her thoughts were, ”They smell good and I like them…..they taste like candy”. I have used the Tropical Splash Purex Crystals on several loads of laundry, including one in which I included the Sports Bra. Including these crystals in the laundry is easy, you just have to drop the appropriate amount in directly with the laundry and start the washing process. I recently received the Free & Clear version of the Triple Action Purex UltraPacks, thanks to the Purex Insiders team. Using this product is simple. For my top-loading machine, I dropped one pack of liquid into the bottom of the machine as the water was running, and then loaded the clothes. I kept all the usual settings for running the load of laundry, including using cold water. The UltraPacks work in all water temperatures and even work in HE (High-efficiency) machines. I like that the Ultrapacks would prevent any spills or overpouring. I think it would be a great product for teaching my children how to do laundry when they are older. It is premeasured and would prevent any messes. The only tip for preventing spills is to make sure your hands are dry when touching the packets, since they are water activated. I am very satisfied with this product. It works as well as the Purex Free & Clear I have in the jug, leaving my clothes bright, clean and unscented. It also works great on stains, as I have had several of my children’s items come out of the wash with mild stains easily removed. For heavier stains, I definitely pre-treat for optimal results. I have tried the detergent in several loads of laundry, and have been very satisfied. It keeps our clothes looking fresh and clean, and also works well at removing stains. I tried the detergent out on several food stains on my children’s clothes. I applied the detergent directly to the stain before washing and it worked every time, except once with a stubborn tomato sauce stain. I reapplied, and the next time the stain was gone.

My daughter loves the Nursery Rhyme blocks, since they play many of the songs she learned at preschool this year. The spelling and math blocks are great practice for my son, who is entering kindergarten this year. Both of my kids were giggling at all the ways you could combine and build with the Smarcks, and all of the things they can say. They were definitely very excited about these blocks, and they even learned a few things already. I was happy to see that my son could even combine these with his Mega Bloks, which he has always loved. I even enjoyed playing with the Smarcks. The Beach Baby Suntan Lotion is unscented, and provides SPF 25 protection. My kids and I liked the lotion because it is light and doesn’t leave any residue behind. I applied it on my kid’s arms and faces before they went out to play and they didn’t get burned at all. My son said the lotion felt “good” and that it was “just like real skin”. I think he liked that it absorbed well. My daughter also said she liked the lotion, and she can be really fussy about skin care products.
